Have you ever wanted to get something so unique as a gift for that special person in your life and did not know where to start? Trying to think of something creative and unique can be very difficult. I happen to stumble upon the most meaningful gift I could ever give.
That was my problem when Father’s Day rolled around. Our little boy was only a month and a half on my husband’s first Father’s Day, so it wasn’t like he was about to scribble a drawing and trace his hand as a cool present for his daddy. It was up to me to get creative.
I prowled the interwebs for a while until a promotional ad came up advertising what looked like a print out of constellations. I thought to myself that it looked pretty and simple. Simple enough to where it had an elegant feel.
My curiosity got the best of me so I looked into it.
I quickly realized my husband would love this!
How It Works:
This is such a neat gift for a loved one!
As you can see from the picture that the round circle has a bunch of stars. Underneath is a customizable message with a date and location.
When you go onto the website you have the option to choose your location and date. I suggest picking the city where you were located on that day instead of a definitive address. When it is just the city written out it looks less cluttered. Unfortunately, when I had ordered mine I wrote out the address of the location where Oliver was born. It would have looked better without the extra detail and still would’ve relayed the location perfectly.
When you select your date and location the star map of the constellations will change according to what you input. You then can write a nice title/message that will print under the constellations.
They do have an advanced options button. I didn’t mess with it. I only suggest changing the words “The Night Sky” if you feel it’s necessary.
You then can choose your theme (color) and whether or not you would like to have a grid and/or constellations displayed. I chose to only have the constellations because with the grid it looked too busy.
That’s it! Pretty easy. The size of the of the print will be 18″ x 24″ and it’s printed on Art Matte paper at 190 g weight.
I did find this frame at Hobby Lobby. It matched perfectly!
Quick Background:
When my husband and I were dating we loved to look at the stars. His family lived on a bunch of property away from the city so star gazing was quite easy. We bought a constellation book but we not smart enough to buy a telescope. ? So when I came across the Night Sky website I thought this would be a great way to honor the night Oliver was born and when my husband became a daddy.
