Everyone loves to get free money. I know I do! So why can’t you do it when your grocery shopping? Wait, you can make easy cash grocery shopping!
My husband and I have a tight budget when it comes to grocery shopping. We generally stick to the same items on our shopping list every week to ensure we stay on target. If we vary it is only because we have some extra money to splurge or we are making a special meal.
So when I discovered ways that you can make easy cash grocery shopping a lightbulb went off in my head. I knew these apps had been available for a while. My reason for not signing up immediately was that I didn’t want to be bothered figuring it out or trying to involve coupons. I know, I know. It is a silly reason to not make free money. I guess it comes down to being lazy and not desperate enough. Once I realized how easy they were to figure out I had a “duh” moment and kicked myself for not starting sooner.
How to Make Easy Cash Grocery Shopping
Here are the ones I use when I’m out shopping.
Ibotta
This app is one of the most popular apps available for grocery savings. They do other items than just groceries. They include cleaning products, personal hygiene, clothing electronics, Uber, and a lot more.
How it works:
You have to select the rebates that pertains to you beforehand or after, whatever you prefer, a purchase is made. You then scan your receipt and follow the instructions to select the rebate you chose earlier. It is submitted for approval then you wait for your notification that the money is available in your account.
The way I do it is that I usually shop at a few local stores and always buy the same things. I will go on Ibotta after I have made my purchases and see if there are any rebates available for the items I bought. I don’t like going out of my way to buy items I don’t need. Occasionally I will browse and see rebates I am willing to try on my next grocery run but for the most part, I just buy the necessities.
Ibotta has a payout once you reach $20. Unfortunately, you can’t cash out below that amount. You can even get $10 back after scanning your first receipt by using this promo code: xbeudvh or clicking here.
Checkout 51
Now, this app is very similar to Ibotta. It has the same process of picking rebates and scanning receipts. The big difference is it doesn’t matter where you go shopping. If your receipt lists the rebate they offer, you more than likely will get the cash back. I buy a lot of fresh vegetables and produce. Checkout 51 will give you rebates for these items and most of the time I noticed Ibotta is few and far between.
How it works:
New offers are available every Thursday morning. If you claimed an offer one week, make sure you check back each week to see it the same offer will be available. This app is a gold mine for me since I consistently purchase the same items.
There is a minimum cash of $20 as well with this app.
Walmart Savings Catcher
This is actually used through the regular Walmart app or on their website.
How it works:
You scan your store receipt that has to be less than 7 days old. They compare what you paid to circulars from top competitors in your area for advertised deals that match certain items on your receipt. If a lower advertised price is found, you get the difference. This typically is paid back to you in the form of a Walmart gift card. It can take up to 3 days for them to get back to you before letting you know if they found lower prices.
I bet there are a ton more different ways to save through apps and make easy cash grocery shopping. These are the ones I frequent and have seen results. I’m glad I was able to share and hope you are able to get some free money!
