A meal plan can be hard to come by if you don’t have much guidance. This simple guide is a great way to schedule your meals for the week.
Meal Plan
Do you deal with not knowing what to cook or make every day for each meal? If you are this person, I feel your pain. Consequently, I have been this way for years. On a whim, I will make whatever is in my fridge and not bother to plan out my weekly meals. Hence, this is not a good habit if you try to stick with a budget.
My Problem
These past few months I have been trying to set goals for myself and make a daily schedule. This schedule also consists of a separate list for my chores. As part of my goal setting, I am determined to eat better, balanced meals and make sure my family is getting the same.
At first, I had a hard time finding a good rhythm when planning these meals. As a result, I would make a list to go shopping with a general idea of what I wanted. Nothing was ever really set in stone.
My Solution
One day I decided I needed to write down exactly what I would be eating for each meal. I am more of a visual person so, in addition, having a nice worksheet to write down all the meals proves to be very helpful. Therefore, as a result, I am more organized when I decide to go food shopping. I have a game plan because I decided to be more organized with my goals.
So how do you make a meal plan?
Write out your food goals. This can be anything from losing weight, eating healthy, or just trying to stick to a consistent schedule. Next, make sure you find recipes you like by looking in cookbooks or scouring the internet. Then write down which days of the week you plan on eating these meals and make a shopping list of the items needed.
I make things really complicated in my head so when I wrote down everything I needed and formed a weekly system of buying the same things over and over, it proved to be a really easy system to follow. I keep up the consistency of shopping for the same meals each week and every once in a while I will switch it up and replace a meal with something new. Really, taking the time to write it all down proved to be extremely helpful.
How can this help you?
Finally, this meal planning worksheet has been able to help me plan out my meals more effectively. So I created it as a FREE printable for you! Sign up below to have it emailed to your inbox.
