Blogging is a great way to make a living while working from home. For many, it starts as a side hustle and can blossom into a full-time income. There are numerous tools for bloggers that can be extremely helpful, but we have narrowed it down to the best six we feel are truly beneficial.

Tools for Bloggers

#1 Social Warfare

Social Warfare is an extremely useful plugin that keeps track of your social shares on your website/posts. As you can see when you scroll on this post the social sharing bar scrolls along with you. They have a free version but unfortunately, it is a little limited compared to the paying version.

In the paid version you have the option to have a Pinterest image automatically inserted at the top of your post and you are able to input the text that you want it to generate. Before I added this plugin I realized how much potential I was losing through social media because descriptions were not displaying or the wrong sized images were not producing. This feature in itself is worth purchasing.

It also has the floating “pin it” buttons on inserted images through the paid version.

I have had a few issues with the plugin being updated and have had to contact customer service. They are great at responding quickly and worked with me throughout the troubleshooting process.

I love that it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to use this plugin. It is only $29 for a yearly license. That’s less than $2.50 a month!

#2 Elite Blog Academy

When I started blogging I felt overwhelmed. There is just so much information out there to help you on your new venture. You definitely can find what you need for free but free information isn’t always good information.

So I sought out the best course I could find that would help me relate to my readers. After careful consideration and making sure it would be worth the investment, I decided to try out Elite Blog Academy. The only problem is that they only open the cart for a limited amount of time. I think once a year. So you better be ready to sign up when it is launched.

One thing that I admire about the creator, Ruth Soukoupe, it that she seems real. Her whole way of marketing the program feels down to earth and that she genuinely wants you to learn. Another bonus is that she, herself has a seven-figure blogging business. When I hear a blogger has that much success it is encouraging that the same can happen to me. You can sign up for the wait list here if you are interested.

#3 Thirsty Affiliates

This plugin has been a lifesaver! I can’t tell you how confusing it is to save all of your affiliate links in a spreadsheet. Doing it this way got old really fast. The frustration was eliminated after I did some research to find a better solution. After I installed the plugin and inserted all my links it was like a burden had been lifted. Inserting links comes so much easier now.

#4 Stay Focusd

As tools for bloggers go, this chrome extension is handy. We are guilty of getting sucked into the abyss called the internet while we are working. I can say I already have veered away from writing this post at least seven times to check different things like email, my bank account, references for links, subscriptions, etc. Too many times have I gotten distracted already. In order to finish this post, I have turned on the Stay Focusd Chrome extension. It definitely helps me from trailing off.

#5 Mint.com

Mint.com is one of the many tools for bloggers that help with finances. There are so many different budgeting software and spreadsheets available. Mint.com imports your purchases right into your account. This helps create a budget for your business and pay bills.

#6 Tailwind

I’m still pretty new to Tailwind but from what I can tell it has saved me hours of manually pinning to Pinterest every day. It schedules all my pins for my blog with only a couple of hours of work. It was a little overwhelming when I first signed up but I soon got the hang of it. I suggest following their tutorials in order to maximize usage.

So there you have it! Six tools for bloggers that are helpful with the functionality of your blog. Let me know if you have any other tools that you find helpful. I’m sure there are a ton out there that I haven’t listed. I’m curious what you use!
