Making a daily schedule or daily planner does not have to be difficult. Most of the time we all have an idea of how our day is planned out but have a hard time executing what needs to be done.
Daily Schedule
In my last post, we concentrated on goal setting and how it is great to have an actionable plan. If you missed it you can check out Homemaking: How to Set Goals here. When we set goals we want to make sure we are able to attain them and we for sure don’t want unattainable goals, right?
When you make a daily schedule you want to make sure some of those goals are included. I gave the example of a goal I was trying to set and how I broke it down. To recap, I wanted to declutter my entire home which I set a due date and then I broke down the goal into actionable steps.
Blocking Time
The next thing to accomplish is making your daily schedule to reflect those goals and also your daily responsibilities. I created a worksheet to help with my daily schedule. It is very simple and not complicated to use. Perfect for quickly jotting down your daily tasks.
This worksheet starts with the date and day of the week. Then it goes on to list line by line all your tasks and, to the right, it has designated blocks for blocking time. Blocking time each day to accomplish your goals is very important. Without a set amount of time for tasks, you will not be able to accomplish your goals.
How I Sort My Tasks
First, I sort my daily tasks either by time or least important. I know it sounds a little weird but hear me out.
I know every morning I have to get up, make breakfast, and get my little one out of bed. So I lump my “morning routine” into one line item as a task then the next line items will be either laundry, dishes, picking up toys, etc. These items are not that important and can be done quickly so I can scratch them off my list.
Next, I make sure I have added the more time consuming “Must Dos” to right-hand side time blocks. These blocks make sure you target your goals, errands, appointments, etc.
How can this help you?
This daily schedule worksheet has been able to help me plan out my day more effectively. So I created it as a FREE printable for you! Sign up below to get your copy emailed to you.
