Sometimes it is hard to get inspired. We get stuck in a funk and have a hard time visually planning. That’s why we all need inspiration for decorating. Making time to look for what appeals to our interests, or is eye-catching, isn’t always the trick when it comes to decorating our home.
Inspiration for Decorating
I bet you have the same issues as I do when it comes to creating a more functional way of living. I am constantly battling myself when it comes to getting the right kind of inspiration.
Of course, there is always Pinterest. It has a plethora of great, inspiring photos of beautifully decorated rooms and organized living spaces. Oh, how that would be amazing if I could have my home that wonderfully laid out.
Reality
As much as we want our homes to look “Pinterest Perfect” we have to face reality and try to make it work with what we already have.
For most, it isn’t easy to chuck everything and redecorate. I know my budget doesn’t allow me to redecorate hardly ever. Even though I crave that beautiful kitchen or family room, I know I should try to keep my spirits up somehow.
Don’t get discouraged, get inspired
Ok, so facing the music sometimes is tough. Affordability is challenging when you want to change the scenery in your house. Instead of pushing the budget or jumping the gun to take out a line a credit so you can have those awesome sofas you want, wait… take a step back.
Little touches over time can go a long way.
I love how Hobby Lobby has all sorts of cute, little decor items. I especially like the signs you can hang on your walls. Over time I have collected some that I find to be inspiring. They help me stay motivated that maybe, one day, I can have that “Pinterest Perfect” home.
Stay optimistic
Remember it is a process. It will come eventually as long as you keep optimistic and strive towards your goal.
When it comes to needing inspiration for decorating this saying below really resonates with me.
I love looking at this by my desk! It is a constant reminder that improvement is better than perfection.
Start today by brainstorming what makes you inspired. Pull up those pins on Pinterest you pine over and take action. Pick them apart. Figure out what you can afford. Implement what you can now and plan for what you want in the future.
This will help keep the motivation and inspiration going.
I hope I was able to provide some insight on how to stay inspired. Let me know if you have any tips you would love to share!
